Ember Marriage Retreats
Marriages usually begin fully ablaze. Yet as couples move through the seasons of life, the demands of everyday have a way of tamping down the intensity. Ember exists for the couples ready to rekindle that flame.
Why Ember
The fire doesn't have to dim.
Ember is a space to focus on your own marriage away from the daily demands and distractions — to become better together, no matter where you are on your journey.
Just as the most blazing fire will eventually be reduced to an ember, all marriages need to be rekindled. Job changes, children, relocations, aging parents, and empty nests have a way of tamping down the intensity over time.
That is the purpose of Ember.
The Ember Story
Read the rings
When a forester wants to understand a tree's life, he cuts a cross-section and reads the rings. Each ring is a year. Wide rings mark seasons of abundance: good rainfall, warm summers, plenty of light. Narrow rings tell a different story: drought, disease, years the tree had to fight simply to survive. Some years the rings are nearly impossible to see.
Your marriage has rings, too. If you could hold a cross-section of your marriage right now and trace it year by year, you would find them. The wide ones, full of closeness and growth. And the narrow ones. The job change that changed everything. The year you lost a parent. The season you were in the same house but miles apart. Those rings are not failures. They are the record of a marriage that has lived.
The question is never whether hard seasons will come. The question is whether you'll do the work to grow again.

They started Ember not because they had it all figured out, but because they needed something like it — and believed other couples did too.
