Who we are

Ember Marriage Retreats (“Ember,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a marriage enrichment ministry hosting retreats in Highlands, North Carolina. Ember is operated by SapientWorks, LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. This page describes how we collect, use, and protect information from people who visit embermarriage.com or contact us about a retreat.

Information you give us

When you submit our inquire form, we collect the information you provide:

• Your name and your spouse's name
• Your email address and phone number (if you choose to share one)
• How long you've been married
• The retreat date you're interested in
• Any message you share about why Ember caught your attention

We collect this information only because you chose to send it. The inquire form is the only place on this site where we ask for personal information.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, ours receives some technical information when you visit: browser and device type, the pages you view and how you arrived, an approximate city or region based on IP address, and the time of your visit. We use standard web analytics tools to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate.

How we use information

We use the information you provide to:

• Respond to your inquiry personally; Woody or someone from the team will reach out by email
• Discuss whether Ember is the right fit for you and your spouse
• Confirm details if you decide to attend a retreat
• Stay in touch with you about your specific retreat

We use automatically-collected information to understand which pages are most useful and to improve the site over time.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it outside the small team directly involved in hosting your retreat.

Who we share information with

Your personal information is handled with care and shared only with the small set of trusted service providers we use to run Ember, for things like web hosting, storing inquiry records, measuring site traffic in aggregate, and sending email replies to you. Each provider is bound by terms that limit their use of your information to delivering their service, and we do not share your information with anyone for advertising or any other purpose.

Cookies and tracking

Our site uses small first-party cookies from our analytics provider to recognize returning visitors and count site sessions. We do not use cookies for advertising or to track you across other websites.

Data retention

We keep inquiry records indefinitely so we have context for future conversations with you. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's standard retention policies (typically 14–26 months). If you ask us to delete your inquiry record, we will do so within a reasonable time.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• Tell you what information we have about you
• Correct information that is wrong
• Delete your inquiry record

Children

This site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the “Effective” date at the top of the page.
